TRANSATLANTIC flies again - Prog Rock supergroup reunites for new studio album

PROGRESSIVE ROCK SUPERGROUP REUNITES FOR NEW STUDIO ALBUM.
POSSIBLE LATE 2009 RELEASE PLANNED.

TRANSATLANTIC, the progressive rock "supergroup" comprised of Mike Portnoy (Dream Theater), Pete Trewavas (Marillion), Roine Stolt (The Flower Kings) and Neal Morse (ex-Spock's Beard), have reunited after a 7 year hiatus to begin work on a brand new studio album.

The band began work on the album in early April in Nashville and are expected to have it released by year's end if all goes as planned.

TRANSATLANTIC have previously released two studio albums to tremendous critical and fan acclaim: 2000's SMPTe and 2001's Bridge Across Forever. The band toured on the heels of each release with an American Tour in 2000 and a European Tour in 2001 and released subsequent Live DVD's/CD's from both tours before going their separate ways for an indefinite hiatus which lasted almost the entire decade.

Sortie prévue le 26 Octobre. Un seul titre... de 77 minutes.
Evidemment, il y aura une édition spéciale avec un second CD (4 nouveautés + 4 reprises).

Quel album excellent le "SMPTe ". Le 2nd était très bien aussi, peut-être un poil en dessous mais bon ... on va pas chipoter non plus.
Un must ... savant mélange de prog' tendance Genesis / Yes et de mélodies imparables tendances Beatles.
Je les ai vu sur la tournée Bridge Across Forever, quelle pêche sur scène !
J'attends ce nouvel opus avec impatience.

PS : paraitrait aussi qu'il y aurait du Liquid Tension Experiment dans l'air, quelqu'un est au courant ?

J'avais lu cette news sur des sites consacrés à Dream Theater en début 2009, mais depuis je n'ai rien vu passer confirmant cette information.

Je suis impatient d'entendre 1 le titre de 77 minutes et 2 la reprise d'a salty dog de Procol Harum.

Faut le dire à Blacky, ça peut l'intéresser.

Transatlantic have a major live release coming out soon.

It’s called Whirld Tour 2010: Live At Shepherds Bush, London. A self-explanatory title, it was recorded and filmed at the venue on May 21 this year. This comes as a two-disc DVD and also as three CDs. There will be a deluxe edition featuring all five discs.
