Vraiment triste que je connaisse ce groupe parce que le chanteur est décédé.. les morceaux que j'ai écoutés sont excellents !!! Je vais aller voir s'il n'y aurait pas de cd par ici à vendre.

"Andrew "Mac" McDermott, the former lead singer of U.K. progressive metallers THRESHOLD, reportedly passed away in England yesterday (Wednesday, August 3). A condolences page has been launched at this location.

McDermott had "serious health problems" in the months leading up to his death, according to a June 2011 statement from the German melodic metal band POWERWORLD, with whom McDermott recorded the 2010 album "Human Parasite".

"I'm very sad about our big loss," POWERWORLD bassist Ilker Ersin stated about his former bandmate's passing. "I can't find the right words in this moment."

McDermott performed in clubs in England and tried to establish a band there in his early years before he moved to Germany to join the band SARGANT FURY. After three albums, the band dissolved and in 1998 McDermott joined THRESHOLD as lead singer, replacing Damian Wilson.

Shortly after the release of THRESHOLD's 2007 album "Dead Reckoning", McDermott left the band, resulting in Wilson's return to the group".

On parle de "sérieux problèmes de santé" sans pourtant en donner la nature.

Le nouvel album intitulé For The Journey sortira le 19 septembre :

British progressive metallers THRESHOLD will release their new album, "For The Journey", on September 19 via Nuclear Blast. The follow-up to 2012's "March Of Progress" was produced at Thin Ice Studios in England by THRESHOLD members Karl Groom (guitars) and Richard West (keyboards) and was mastered by Mika Jussila at Finnvox in Finland.

Commented West: "'For The Journey' is one of our strongest albums and one of the most enjoyable to make. I've probably heard it a thousand times during the recording process, but now that's it's over, I still can't stop listening to it!"

Threshold annonce la sortie d'un nouvel album en 2017 mais aussi la signature d'un contrat avec le label allemand Nuclear Blast :

THRESHOLD ANNOUNCE NEW ALBUM AND SIGN NEW CONTRACT WITH NUCLEAR BLAST

British progressive protagonists Threshold have signed a new contract with Nuclear Blast and extended their partnership after 10 successful years with the label.

Guitarist Karl Groom states: "We're very happy to continue with Nuclear Blast and couldn't imagine a better fit for Threshold."

Keyboard player Richard West adds: "Nuclear Blast have given us everything we could want from a label and we're really looking forward to releasing our new album with them."

"2017 will be the year of Prog!", adds Nuclear Blast CEO Markus Staiger. "We are very happy to continue our work with Threshold and bring a massive release to you next year!"

Over the last 10 years with the Label, Threshold have released three studio albums, a double live album and reissues of the whole back catalogue. Currently, the band is working on their 11th masterpiece, a new concept album that is scheduled to be released in 2017.

Threshold change de chanteur. Damian Wilson quitte donc le groupe (ça fait 2 fois, il me semble...). Il est remplacé par Glynn Morgan qui fit partie du groupe de 1994 à 1996 apparaissant ainsi sur Psychedelicatessen et en 2008 sur le coffret Paradox (coffret réunissant tous les singles du groupe). Mais à l'époque, le chanteur n'était autre que le regretté Andrew "Mac" Dermott.

THRESHOLD‘s new frontman will be Glynn Morgan, the band’s former vocalist from 1994 to 1996. Morgan appeared on THRESHOLD‘s 1994 album “Psychedelicatessen” and returned to work with the band in 2008 to record tracks for the singles box set “Paradox”.

THRESHOLD sortira son nouvel album, "Legends Of The Shires", le 8 septembre via Nuclear Blast.

"Legends Of The Shires" sera le onzième album studio du groupe et leur premier double album. Il retrouve également Glynn Morgan au chant pour la première fois depuis 1996.

Parlant de cette pochette, West a commenté: «J'adore quand un artwork vous indique quel genre de disque vous achetez. Celui-ci crie vraiment« progressif »et me rappelle certains des albums prog classiques du 20e siècle.

“It’s a good feeling to have something positive to say about music again”, Karl Groom said. “We've been writing for a new Threshold album for a while now and are starting to exchange demos. Following 'Legends of the Shires' is quite a thing, but we've always aimed to take a step forward each album and I'm very excited by what we have so far!"
