Dans 10 ans Ullrich va nous annoncer qu'il a vu Robert Johnson en concert  ... Pas pire que Phil et Tangmo qui soutiennent  avoir assister à un soundcheck de Assurancetourix .

Le 27 septembre1986, à 24 ans, le bassiste de Metallica Cliff Burton meurt dans l'accident du tour bus entre Stockholm et Copenhague. Pendant leur tournée Européenne, le groupe s'amuse à tirer les meilleures places dans le bus en les jouant aux cartes. Burton remporte la meilleure place et dormait au moment de l'accident, il a traversé la vitre du bus, qui lui est ensuite tombé dessus !!!

Les shows seront ensuite disponibles exclusivement sur la chaîne The Coda Collection/Prime Video pour un visionnage ultérieur.”

De plus, les films live de Metallica, Cunning Stunts et Orgullo, Pasión, y Gloria : Tres Noches en la Ciudad de México, seront également disponibles via The Coda Collection le week-end prochain.

Ces offres sont les premières d’une collection croissante de contenus liés à Metallica qui seront lancés sur The Coda Collection en 2022. D’autres films de concert, documentaires et autres sont prévus.

Kirk Hammet (Metallica) va sortir son premier EP solo

Kirk Hammet, guitariste de Metallica, se prépare à sortir son premier EP solo instrumental, intitulé Portals.
Kirk Hammet, guitariste soliste de Metallica depuis 1983 (juste avant l’enregistrement de Kill’em All, leur premier album), annonce ce mardi 8 février la sortie de son premier EP solo, intitulé Portals. Sa sortie est annoncée au 23 avril, pour correspondre au Disquaire Day. Il sera donc disponible auprès d’une sélection de disquaires indépendants et sur le site officiel du groupe de metal américain.

Le musicien a déclaré :

« Avant même d’avoir l’idée d’un EP solo, j’ai été inspiré par la création d’une sorte de bande son pour accompagner The Kirk Hammett Collection de la première d’It’s Alive […] en 2017. Je voulais une musique qui tourne en boucle en fond sonore pendant que les gens admirent l’exposition. Je me suis mis à travailler sur une progression d’accords un soir et soudain, toutes les parties de Maiden and the Monster étaient réunies.

Le concept initial de Portals a commencé avec ce morceau. Suite à cela, je me suis rendu compte que je pouvais faire différents types de bandes son. Je les appelle des « films audio ». Je créé des sons et des pièces musicales pour les films qui se jouent dans ma tête. J’espère que les gens se feront d’autres films dans leur tête en les écoutant. »

Si les morceaux de cet EP ne semblent pas faits pour être joués sur scène, Metallica a bien l’intention de remonter sur les planches. Un concert est prévu en France le 26 juin, en fermeture du festival Hellfest Open Air (Clisson), qui affiche complet. Le groupe n’a pas officiellement communiqué sur un prochain album. Le dernier en date, Hardwired… To Self-Destruct, est sorti en 2016. Depuis, le groupe a fêté son 40e anniversaire.

Metallica a donné le coup d'envoi de sa tournée européenne (et la setlist est colossale)

Ce concert était le premier déplacement de Metallica en Europe depuis la période précédant la pandémie, et les musiciens n’étaient manifestement pas d’humeur à livrer quelque chose de basique, offrant l’une de leurs setlists les plus singulières et les plus approfondies de ces dernières années.

Selon setlist.fm, Metallica a clôturé le show avec Master Of Puppets pour la première fois depuis 1997.

Photos prises avec un tél donc merdiques par rapport à d'hab' et je me suis aussi un peu inspiré de l'article paru sur le webzine MetalJournal... je deviens fainéant ...

Metallica est venu et a mis le public du stade San Mamés à genou. Un concert qui restera gravé dans la mémoire de toute la famille Metallica, comme James Hetfield aime le dire...
Énorme concert soutenu par un public en feu ce soir malgré une journée assez décousue... En effet, sur les cinq groupes initialement prévus, seulement trois sont présents. Niña Coyote Eta Chico Tornado (qui devait remplacer The Regrettes) et Weezer ont annulé leurs prestations en raison de problèmes de dernière minute..." . On se retrouve donc avec Nothing But Thieves qui ouvre le bal plus tard que prévu, la performance de The Hellacopters est décalée d'une heure et celle de Metallica maintenue à 22h00. Informations que nous découvrons dans le stade...

Du coup, nous arrivons bien assez tôt et après un bon gros ravitaillement, bouffe et boissons, nous entrons dans la "Cathedrale" (surnom du stade), nous assistons à la prestation de Nothing But Thieves et franchement.... je ne m'en souviens plus …
Et là nous devons poireauter 2h00 avant le début des "The hellacopters"... on se dit qu'avec un peu de chance, ils vont rallonger leur set... donc on attend, on boit, on attend, on pisse, on boit, on attend... c'est long deux heures .
19h30, The Hellacopters déboule sur scène et c'est parti pour... 1H08 de Rock 'n' Roll... Donc vous l'aurez compris... pas de rallonge et c'est bien dommage, car le groupe délivre un show énergique et "passionnant" de bout en bout... N'étant pas un pros des suédois, je n'ai pas d'album, je ne les ai vu qu'une seule fois précédemment et bien j'ai quand même bien aimer ce concert sans temps mort, pas de chichi, c'est direct, ça va droit un but... Le groupe enflamme le public présent (la fosse est bien remplie et les tribunes sont plutôt clairsemées... Très très bien.


Et c'est reparti pour 1H30 d'attente... Rebelote... on attend, on pisse, on boit, on attend et ainsi de suite dans un ordre aléatoire... Pendant ce temps le stade se remplie...
22h09 (c'est précis ), l'intro de "It's a Long Way To The Top (If You Wanna Rock 'n' Roll)" d' AC/DC résonne dans le stade, suivie de "The Ecstasy Of Gold". La tension est palpable dans l'atmosphère..
Et Paf !!! "Whiplash" dans la gueule pour commencer le concert. Les quatre "cavaliers de l'apocalypse" sont sur le devant de la passerelle du Golden circle . Ils y restent aussi pour les deux titres suivants: "Creeping Death" et "Enter Sandman". Énorme... Le public l'est aussi, hurlant toutes les paroles et sautant dans tous les sens... Dès les premières notes du concert, le public est debout dans les tribunes...
Hetfield se la joue à la Biff en demandant aux fans s'ils avaient une idée de la chanson qu'ils voudraient entendre? La différence est que James donne lui même la réponse en présentant "Harvester Of Sorrow" extrait, comme vous le savez tous , de "… And Justice For All". Niveau son, on dira qu'il est plutôt bon et ce n'est pas une mince affaire d'une manière générale et encore plus particulièrement dans ce genre de stade à "l'anglaise" où cela peut résonner très fortement...
Une bonne partie du public est pris au dépourvu par "No Leaf Clover" (moi aussi d'ailleurs , j'essaie toujours d'assister aux concerts sans connaître la setlist). Un autre moment qui m'a perturbé est lorsque James Hetfield demande l'avis du public sur l'album St. Anger... Pas la peine de dire qu'une grosse partie de l'assistance manifeste son rejet de l'album le plus controversé du groupe (je n'ose pas parler de LULU, hein ?! ). Le groupe enchaîne quand même avec "Dirty Window". Le flop du concert... Heureusement que les affaires reprennent avec "Nothing Else Matters" et "For Whom The Bell Tolls".


La suite est dantesque avec un James Hetfield à fond et très en voix.
L'enchainement des deux derniers titres "Welcome Home (Sanitarium)" et "Seek & Destroy", avant les rappels, est un des sommets de la soirée. Sur les écrans, défilent des photos de billets de concerts d'époque... L'effet visuel est plutôt sympa...
Après une très courte pause, le groupe revient pour l'ultime rappel et interprète avec fougue "Metal Militia". Bizarrement il y a une légère diminution du volume sonore sur ce titre (et uniquement sur celui ci). "One" fut magique et le dernier titre de la soirée "Master Of Puppets" se termine par... une panne de son , juste après le sublime solo. Le groupe continue de jouer sans se rendre compte de quoi que ce soit. Il aura fallu une énorme huée poussée par la foule pour que James et consort se rendent compte qu'il y a un problème . Du coup, James s'excuse et demande à partir de quel moment l'incident c'est produit... Et Le groupe reprend le titre... Après deux heures et quatre minutes de spectacle, metallica salut le public sous une énorme ovation. P*tain qu'il est bruyant ce stade .
Après cette excellente soirée nous décidons de vite rejoindre notre véhicule avant que cela bouchonne de tous les côtés... chose que l'on fera très facilement.
