j'aller créer le topic.
mais oui...c'est mon point faible...mon talon d'achille...et je me demande parfois si je ne serais pas prêt à me disputer avec des amis si ils critiquaient ce groupe...(mais, non, quand même)
une sorte de Mollah des Doobie, quoi...un intégriste du "Long Train Runnin", un Raélien du "Black Water"...

je suis comme les jeunes filles qui crient "Patriiiiiiiccckk" en voyant Bruel sur scéne.
Moi, je m'exclame: "Dooobbiiiiiie".(et je fais dans ma culotte.. )

je vais fignoler d'ici là quelques historiques de ce Magnifique Groupe avec des extraits à télécharger si ça intérrésse.

On 27 June 2011, Eagle Rock Entertainment release “Live At The Greek Theatre 1982” by the Doobie Brothers. This is a simultaneous release on DVD and CD formats [Cat No: EREDV887 and EAGCD446 respectively]. “Live At The Greek Theatre 1982” features all their classics including: “Listen To The Music”, “Rockin’ Down The Highway”, “Long Train Runnin’”, “Black Water”, “Minute By Minute”, “What A Fool Believes”, “Takin’ It To the Streets”, “China Grove” and many more.

Recorded at the Greek Theatre in Berkeley, California in 1982, this concert was the last date on “Farewell Tour”. It was an emotional night and would be the last gig for 5 years. The set contained all their best loved hits and they were joined by founder member Tom Johnston for the last two tracks, with former members John Hartman (also from the original line-up), Tiran Porter and Michael Hossack coming on stage for the celebratory finale of “Listen To The Music”. The band are in fantastic form and rise to the occasion magnificently, they can rarely have delivered a better performance throughout their distinguished career. An album called “Farewell Tour” was released by Warners in 1983 but this featured tracks recorded at several different concerts across the tour. This is the first time the audio of their actual final concert has been available.

On CD format, four additional tracks from the concert have also been reinstated as bonus tracks. On the DVD format, the Bonus Features offer five tracks from the concert that were cut from the original 1982 film: “Little Darling (I Need You)”, “One Step Closer”, “Dependin’ On You”, “Real Love” and “No Stoppin’ Us Now” plus interviews with the band members and manager.

Michael McDonald désire obtenir 50% sur les recettes au lieu d'une part qui s'élevait entre 12 et 20%. Depuis 2007, avec les téléchargements, Eminem avait, par exemple, déjà fait pression sur Universal Music :

Former Doobie Brothers singer Michael McDonald is suing the band’s longtime label in an attempt to get more money for masters licensed to third-party music downloaders such as iTunes and Amazon. According to Billboard, the white-haired vocalist wants 50 percent of receipts instead of 12-20 percent.

The Doobie Brothers released nine albums on Warner Brothers between 1971 and 1980, including McDonald-fronted radio hits like ‘Minute by Minute,’ ‘What a Fool Believes’ and ‘Takin’ It to the Streets.’ Traditional royalties call for the artist to get 12 to 20 percent, but a 2007 case by rapper Eminem against Universal Music Group set a new precedent for digital downloads.

Lawyer Richard S. Busch is at the heart of suits brought by McDonald, as well as artists like Peter Frampton and Kenny Rogers. They’re all looking for 50 percent. Billboard says that Busch is going further by claiming conspiracy amongst major record labels in the suit brought on by McDonald, alleging that together they are trying to deprive artists of proper royalties.
