Mais tu pourrais te justifier un peu, style je ne l'avais pas en vinyle

Dans une récente vidéo, Jimmy Page nous expose en bref les raisons qui l'ont poussé à ré-enregistrer les albums du Zep à savoir proposer la meilleure qualité sonore possible afin d'en apprécier la teneur car, pour lui, chaque album représente un tableau bien défini de l'univers zeppelinien. Y a peut-être aussi "l'univers-dollar" mais ça, ça n'est pas dit...... A la question qu'on lui pose souvent afin de savoir quel est son album préféré, il répond le premier album comme ayant été très "avant-garde" à la fois dans la façon dont il a été enregistré et dans la manière de jouer de la batterie. Par ailleurs, chaque album devait sonner à chaque fois différemment du précédent.

Led Zeppelin enregistrera un nouvel album live un peu plus tard cette année. Cela a été confirmé dans une nouvelle interview accordée à Planet Rock Magazine.

“I can’t give the game away,” Page said, “but there’s a recording that’s another multi-track that we’ll release. It’s so different to all the other things that are out there. It’s another view compared to How The West Was Won or The Song Remains The Same. I’m looking forward to people hearing that.”

Page also said that he has plans to continue releasing Led Zeppelin material over the next 10 years. “There’s a lot of stuff to come out, a number of releases,” Page said. “I’d like to say that they’ll be coming out over the next 10 years. There’s more to come for sure.”

Page a aussi dit qu'il continuerait à sortir du matériel Led Zeppelin pendant les 10 prochaines années. "Il y a encore beaucoup de choses à sortir a t-il affirmé. J'aimerais que ça sorte dans les 10 prochaines années. C'est sûr, il y a encore beaucoup de choses à sortir."

Elsewhere in the interview, Page was asked for his thoughts on whether Led Zeppelin would ever reunite and perform again. “I very much doubt it,” Page said. “You’ve just got to face facts. We’ve gone past the tenth anniversary of the 02, where we managed to do one serious concert. That’s the only thing that we’ve done for such a long time, so I very much doubt we’ll do anything else. I really think the time has gone.”

A un moment dans l'interview, Page a été interrogé sur une éventuelle reformation du groupe. "J'en doute vraiment, a t-il répondu.Les faits sont là. 10 ans se sont écoulés depuis l'O2 où nous avons donné un concert très pro. C'est la seule chose que nous ayons faite depuis si longtemps par conséquent, j'émets de sérieuses réserves quant au fassions quelque chose d'autre. Je pense que le temps a passé."

Bref, c'est trop tard.

Les 3 membres restants ont demandé au "gamin" de changer le nom de son groupe "Led Zeppelin Experience" en "Led Zeppelin Evening". ’ I don’t know what they have planned, but I said, ‘Okay, I will clear the way so they can do what they wish.’” ("Je ne sais pas ce qu'ils ont prévu", mais j'ai dit "D'accord, je vais régler ça et donc ils pourront faire ce qu'ils souhaitent.")

Un mémorial vient d'être érigé dans la ville natale (Redditch) de John Bonham :

JOHN BONHAM MEMORIAL

We are thrilled to announce that a permanent bronze memorial of world renowned drummer John Bonham of Led Zeppelin has been erected in Redditch Town centre to commemorate the Redditch born musician's 70th birthday May 31st 2018. The idea originated from fans in the West Midlands town who felt that John’s achievement of being lauded as one of the most outstanding and original drummers of his time, be formally recognised.

The memorial, created by acclaimed sculptor Mark Richards, has been made possible from generous donations from both sides of the Atlantic with excess funds raised being donated to Teenage Cancer Trust West Midlands. In addition, a specially designed memorial teeshirt is being made available with 100% of profits going to the Trust to support their vital services across the West Midlands in memory of John Bonham who resided in Worcestershire with his wife Patricia and their two children until his untimely passing 25th September 1980.
