Trevor Bolder sera de retour à temps dans Uriah Heep pour assurer le concert du Download Festival le 14 juin prochain :

Trevor Bolder will return to Uriah Heep in time for their appearance at this year’s Download Festival, the band have vowed.

The bassist was sidelined earlier this year with what was originally believed to have been a heart attack – but he later revealed to Classic Rock that he was suffering from pancreatic cancer.

Heep say in a statement: “The band is delighted to be helping Download 2013 kick things off in style with an appearance on the opening date, 14 June.

“This date has also had increased significance for the band as Trevor has stated that he wants to be back in harness for this show.

“The recovery of Bolder – of course a huge part of the Heep puzzle, and a former Bowie/Ziggy band member – is going well. It looks like Heep will be able to welcome him back, to take over from Dave Rimmer who is currently standing in for him, in the near future.”

Last month Bolder told how he’d been “shell-shocked” after being told he was ill. He explained: “I had a big operation in early January that will take me months to get over. I had pancreas cancer so I had to have that removed. Not the entire pancreas – but still, it was bad news. They’ve cut out the bad bit. I’ve had a bit of chemo, got to have that, which I’m doing now, in case there’s anything hanging about. Once that’s done, I should be back to doing what I do for a living.”

John Lawton réintègrera le groupe pour quelques concerts aux Pays Bas, Allemagne, Autriche, Italie et Suisse en mai. En effet, Bernie Shaw doit procéder à des examens médicaux. J'espère qu'ils auront la bonne idée de capter l'un de ces concerts en cd et DVD.

Uriah Heep will tour with former frontman John Lawton at the helm, the band have confirmed.

He’ll stand in for Bernie Shaw, who’s taking time off for a routine medical procedure, for concerts in the Netherlands, Germany, Austria, Italy and Switzerland during May.

It’s the first time Lawton will have hit the road with Heep since he bowed out in 1979 after a three-year stint. He’d already been booked to make a one-off guest appearance with Mick Box’s outfit in Spain in July.

The band say: “As the shows will be recorded for official bootlegs, it promises to be a real treat for the fans. The sets will be skewed to songs reflecting John’s original tenure with the band – a celebration of classic 1970s Uriah Heep. this will be a unique chance to catch such a nostalgic performance.”

Lawton appeared on three studio albums with Heep: Firefly and Innocent Victim in 1977 and Fallen Angel in 1978. He’d previously been with Lucifer’s Friend and returned to that band in the 1980s. He’s released a number of records as a solo artist and leader of the John Lawton Band, and his most recent work was last year’s The Power Of Mind with Diana Express.

il avait deja remplacé bernie en 95 ou 96 ,lors d'une tournée en amerique du sud ,bernie ayant des problemes de cordes vocales.

Frontiers Music Srl will release URIAH HEEP's newest live album, titled "Live At Koko, London 2014", on February 20, 2015 in Europe and February 24 in North America.

In January 2011, URIAH HEEP entered the studio to record "Into The Wild" and the band once again returned to the road for a worldwide tour. The group played in front of nearly 150,000 people in 58 different countries. On March 4, 2014, URIAH HEEP played in front of its "home" audience in London and performed an amazing show which was recorded in HD for a release in double CD/DVD and, for the first time, on Blu-ray.

"Recording a live DVD in London at Koko's was just fantastic. Our fans travelled from all over the world to be there, and be part of this magic night," says guitarist Mick Box. "This added so much to the atmosphere, and thankfully it was captured on camera. We debuted two songs from our new CD, 'Outsider', that night, and the reaction was just incredible, proving that we have the best fans in the world."

Originally founded by vocalist David Byron and guitarist Mick Box, URIAH HEEP has been through an incredible number of permutations, with Box always at the helm. Longstanding keyboard player Phil Lanzon and vocalist Bernie Shaw were recruited nearly thirty years ago in 1986. Drummer Russell Gilbrook who has now been with the band seven years, has recorded studio albums "Wake The Sleeper", "Into The Wild" and "Outsider". "Wake The Sleeper" heralded an exciting new phase for the band, taking HEEP's classic sound right into the future. The band celebrated its 40th anniversary with an aptly titled greatest-hits re-recordings album called "Celebration". Dave Rimmer, who had been standing in for Trevor Bolder (ex-David Bowie's SPIDERS FROM MARS), continues as the bassist, with the band's diary for the foreseeable future as full as ever.

bof bof énième live  ,j'ai beaucoup de mal avec le batteur .
j'ai plus l'impression d'un cover band ou box band pour moi pas de trop de credibilté sans hensley ou lawton .
il ne devait pas sortir une des dates avec lawton ?

C'est du mp3 ton lien. Sinon les deux proviennent de la même K7, mais il semblerait que sur celui de G101 l'ordre ne soit pas le bon ("Salisbury" serait avant "I Wanna Be Free").

la pluspart des live publiés sont très récents (avec bernie shaw) il n'y a pas grand choses avec byron et encore moins avec lawton donc oui les bootleg sont utile .

Live At Orpheum Theatre, Boston, MA, USA 6th May 1976.

The show was originally scheduled for 13 March 1976. However, the ticket was printed before the tour was cofirmed, and the concert date was then booked for 17 April. The attached ad for the 17 April show states that the tickets for 13 March show would be honored.

Then the 17 April date was postponed. The reason for the show's second posponement was because keyboardist Ken Hensley left the band and flew back to London just on 17 April. Hensley was fed up with David Byron's drinking's problem, and planned to quit the band.
Uriah Heep's manager Gerry Bron convinced Hensley to return to the band and give Byron last chance to sober up. Hensley returned to the tour, and the Boston show was re-scheduled for 6 May.


The Boston show was the last night of the 1976 US tour, and the last US show with David Byron in the band. Byron continued with the band for their European tour before he was fired from the band due to his drinking problem. Byron's last show with Uriah Heep was at Sportpalace, Bilbao, Spain on June 25, wich was John Wetton's last show as well."
