C'est vrai que tu as raison quand tu dis sur le FCH que lorsqu'il compose sa set-list , tout est axé sur le répertoire du Zep et là , c'est effectivement râgeant. Pour le coup , autant le reformer surtout qu'il y en a qui s'emmerde à ne rien faire et l'autre qui tourne avec un groupe de nazes.

Robert Plant sera présent aux Electric Proms diffusés à la BBC Radio 2 le 29 octobre puis diffusé à la télé sur BBC 2 le 6 novembre prochain :

Robert Plant is to be one of the headliners for the BBC Electric Proms.

The iconic frontman will headline The Roundhouse of October 29, joined by The Band Of Joy and the London Oriana Choir.

This will be broadcast from 8pm on BBC Radio 2. It’s also being filmed for A Night With Robert Plant, which is to be screened by BBC 2 on November 6. This is to be a night long celebration of the former Led Zeppelin vocalist. Also featured will be a new and exhaustive documentary, including a rare and in depth interview with the man himself.

Des potes du FCH et du BSF dont Ronan et JC , fans du Zep de l'Eternel , ont assisté , il y a 3 jours , au concert de Robert Plant au Palais des Sports. Leur avis sont unanimes : le concert était à chier. Certes , il faut relativiser en affirmant que Plant s'est toujours résolu à considérer le Zep comme une étape importante dans sa carrière mais qu'aujourd'hui , il est passé à autre chose à la fois dans sa musique et dans ses déclarations , déclarations selon lesquelles il ne veut plus entendre parler de reformation du groupe.
Le dilemme réside dans le fait qu'il continue de reprendre certains standards du groupe qui constituent une grande partie de son set. C'est tout à fait légitime puisqu'il les a composés. Par contre , il n'est pas légitime de les massacrer selon toujours l'avis de ces potes. Le paradoxe que j'évoquais était bel et bien présent en ce 24 octobre..

LED ZEPPELIN frontman Robert Plant headlined London, England's Roundhouse on October 29 as part of BBC Radio 2's Electric Proms festival. Plant performed with his new band BAND OF JOY — an updated version of his pre-LED ZEPPELIN group which also featured the late John Bonham — and was joined by The London Oriana Choir.

The show was broadcast live on BBC Radio 2 and can now be streamed at this location.

C'est à Monmouth en Angleterre que Robert Plant a donné un concert devant 200 personnes, prix des places: 3,5 euros. Un petit concert au cours duquel il a rejoint sur scène des musiciens locaux, c’était en hommage a un de ses amis, décédé en janvier dernier.

Les quelques spectateurs présents n’en croyaient pas leurs yeux, la présence de Plant n’était pas prévue. "C'était génial. Un roi du rock, il a joué dans la salle de notre village !", a dit un fan de Led Zeppelin. Robert Plant a d’ailleurs chanté quelques morceaux de sa carrière solo, mais aussi des titres de Led Zeppelin.

Nouveau DVD à paraître le 23 août. il revient en détail sur la carrière de Robert et comprendra des documents d'archives, du live inédit et bien d'autres chose encore.



La critique semble dithyrambique :

MVD Visual's unauthorized music DVDs are such a step above those of any other label that it can be easy to forgive their excesses. Robert Plant's Blue Note clocks in at an astounding 157 minutes. At times, does sometimes seem like a bit of a slog. Nonetheless, if you stick with it you will rewarded with some genuine insights and great music you may never have heard. It actually does a good job of examining Plant's musical career without either rehashing his time in Led Zeppelin or devolving into pointless speculation. You may have to watch it in short spurts but the best parts, of which there are many, make this one the better DVDs in MVD's catalogue.

The obvious comparison is to The Man Who Fell To Earth, MVD's unauthorized DVD bio of Brian Eno. Like this DVD, that one also took two-and-a-half hours and examined an influential and important artist's music. The key difference, however, is that the Eno DVD only covered five years and thus was overlong and overwrought. This DVD covers Plant's entire musical career, from his teenage bands to his most recent works with Nashville session musicians in 2010. What's more, Plant's solo career, unlike Eno's, has never really been examined in much detail, even though in many ways it's been arguably the most adventurous and ambitious of any British rock superstar apart from Peter Gabriel. Neither Mick Jagger nor Roger Daltrey nor (sad to say) Jimmy Page have ever released albums as diverse and fascinating as The Principle of Moments (1983), Now and Zen (1988), Mighty Rearranger (2006), and Raising Sand (2007), his collaboration with bluegrass superstar Alison Krauss. These albums range from electronic world music to guitar-driven blues-rock to straight-up traditional country. The only thing they have in common is Plant's voice and his stubborn refusal to rest on his laurels as Led Zeppelin's front man. It would have been easy for Plant to assemble a band that merely rehashed Zep's sound (as, sad to say, Zep guitarist Jimmy Page has done at times) but instead, he has consistently explored different sounds and styles that appeal to him, even if that sometimes results in albums that hardcore Zep fans might find confusing or challenging.

What Robert Plant's Blue Note does right is examine Plant's musical history by examining his biggest influences. That may sound academic but it isn't, partly because Plant's influences are so radically diverse and also because the DVD examines each of them with respect and authority. There are rare film and audio clips of such artists as Mali group Tinariwen, Egyptian singer Oum Kalthoum, and Delta blues singer Son House. Here MVD Visual's policy of spending the necessary money to license key pieces of music pays off handsomely, as it makes it easy to hear how Oum Kalthoum's music and singing shaped Plant's "Slow Dancer" (from his 1982 solo album Pictures At Eleven) or how Plant's fascination with Eastern music influenced Led Zeppelin's "Kashmir." Refreshingly, Plant's time in Led Zeppelin is discussed but isn't the main focus of the DVD. The band's story has told so many times in so many places that a mere retelling would have been a waste of effort. Instead, the DVD wisely focuses on how Plant's musical adventurism, from his earliest days in his pre-Zep bands to his time in Zeppelin to his solo career, has always been the driving force in how he creates music. It also makes clear that Plant was more than just Zep's singer—he was every bit a valuable collaborator with Jimmy Page. It's just one of many ways that the DVD adds plenty to the existing lore on Led Zeppelin.

Another reason this DVD is worth seeing is that the insights and discussion of how Plant came up with his solo albums are both superb. There are clips of an interview with Plant from 2010 that provide some context but there are also great interviews with Plant's closest musical collaborators, such as guitarist Robbie Blunt, producer Phil Johnstone, and Egyptian singer Hossam Ramzy. All have plenty to say about Plant's solo albums and his brief reunion with Page in the '90s, describing how those albums were written and recorded. The discussions of Plant's solo work makes it possible not only to reassess these albums that were sometimes underrated when they were released, but also to see that there really is a common thread that runs through all of them. The footage of some great though unheralded (in the West, at least) artists, particularly those scenes of Plant collaborating with them, is so absorbing that you'll be intrigued and want to make a list of new music to explore and listen to.

Robert Plant's Blue Note, then, is a valuable release, and not just for Led Zeppelin fans. It serves as a welcome chance to rediscover the roots and influences of a performer who, for all his fame and fortune, is too often underrated. The documentary is too long by about a third, but it's not because any one section is unnecessary, just that each section could stand a bit of pruning and editing. Even then, however, the footage of some truly remarkable Eastern artists and classic bluesmen is a feast for anyone looking to expand their musical horizons. Viewers unfamiliar with Plant's story might want to get a quick overview (see Accomplices section) before watching it but once they do, those who are patient and open-minded will find plenty to enjoy here.

The full-screen transfer and stereo sound mix are both satisfactory, although some of the archival footage does look and sound a bit rough. The only extra of note is a collection of bonus footage (5:52) that examines Plant's affection for legendary bluesman Leadbelly. It's of minor interest. There are also text bios of each of the interviewees.

Plant will play at the Forum in London on 12 July with his new band.

Tickets for the new show are on sale tomorrow at 9am.

The Sensational Space Shifters make their debut next week in Gloucester at a sold out show at the town's Guildhall. They are also due to appear at the Womad Festival in July.

Robert Plant apparaît sur le DVD Rockwell enregistré durant le concert de charité à l'O2 Arena de Londres en septembre 2009 pour la fondation Nordoff-Robbins Music Therapy. Il y interprète trois titres : Black Dog, Fixin' To Die et Whole Lotta Love. Ce DVD sortira le 28 mai :

Plant is one of the performers on the new concert DVD, Rockwell, which was filmed at the O2 Arena in London in September 2009.

The DVD is out now, and the Blu Ray is released on 28 May.

"Robert Plant & The Band Of Joy: Live From The Artists Den" will be released on DVD and Blu Ray on July 10.

The band was filmed at Nashville's War Memorial Auditorium for the music TV series.

The DVD includes performances of three Led Zeppelin classics - "Black Dog," "Houses Of the Holy" and "Tangerine" - that were not part of the initial broadcast on public television stations.

Other songs included that did not make the initial cut are "In the Mood" from his solo disc "Principle of Moments," and the traditional "I Bid You Good Night."

The DVD features bonus interview clips as well.

In the liner notes, Plant writes "Some years back I was propelled by chance, with little planning or expectation into an American way…with a lean and pull into a new direction…voices and harmony, restraint and explosion, tight and loose, great joy in great company… in a blizzard in Nashville."

Les 2.300 places du HMV Forum de Kentish Town ayant été vendues en une heure, le fronton de l'édifice affichait fièrement un "Sold Out" lumineux en lettres rouges.

Après deux heures d'attente à socialiser sous la pluie (certains y dansent bien) les portes s'ouvrent enfin, coudes au corps j'accède aux étages et m'installe plein centre au 1er rang du 1er balcon. Une rambarde bien solide devant moi me permet de déposer mon téléphone mobile muni d'une caméra... ;-) No comments! Ce n'est tout de même pas ma faute si certains fabricants incluent des applications technologiques haut de gamme dans leurs appareils de communication série 4 S!

Robert Plant a déjà tout fait pense t’on, alors pourra t-il encore nous surprendre, innover? La réponse est oui, 1000 fois oui car bien qu'il n'y ait aucune nouvelle composition au programme le choix du répertoire et sa relecture donnent des frissons de plaisir instantanés au public et ce n'est pas d'avoir attendu sous la pluie, croyez moi sur parole. Comme à son habitude Robert ose et prend des risques avec les immortels de Led Zeppelin (il nous gratifiera de 5 opus du dirigeable) dont le sublime "Friends" qui est extrêmement rare au répertoire de Monsieur Plant et encore plus rare au répertoire de Led Zeppelin puisque ils ne l'ont joué qu'une seule fois, c’était au KB Hallen de Copenhague le 3 mai 1971. Après les 5 premiers morceaux dont un "Bron-Yr-Aur-Stomp" revitalisé c'est au tour de Patti Griffin (seule rescapée du Band Of Joy) d'avoir son moment de gloire puisque c'est elle qui occupe l'avant de la scène pour interpréter 4 de ses compositions dont un "No Bad News" qui lorgne très fort du côté mandoline de "Going To California" et de "The Battle Of Evermore". Robert se tient en retrait pour assurer les backing vocals, quel luxe! Patti nous avoue être très fière et heureuse de partager la scène avec son chanteur préféré à tel point qu'ils se tiennent parfois la main mais n'allez pas colporter des ragots, je n'affirme rien, je constate simplement.

On repart avec "Black Dog" revu et corrigé en une "nième" version qui n'a besoin d'aucune sollicitation spéciale pour entendre le public scander les célèbres "aah-ah aah-ah" aux moments opportuns. Un passage blues-rock avec un hommage à John Mayal par l'entremise de "I'm Your Witchdoctor". Juldeh Camara (artiste Gambien) à rejoint le groupe et insuffle la couleur et la touche de l'Afrique noire au sein d'un ensemble qui allie avec bonheur toutes les influences nécessaires à la musique. Europe, Afrique et Amérique du Nord réunies en une interaction parfaite entre les 8 musiciens présents sur scène. Tout sonne juste et chaque chanson touche sa cible. Mention spéciale au très beau Medley comprenant quelques autres grands classiques (voir la setlist). Le concert s'achève sur "Another Tribe" suivi d'un "Gallows Pole" très proche de l'époque Page/Plant. On espérait secrètement une apparition en guest de Jimmy Page mais il n'y en eut pas. Les deux compères ont préféré se rejoindre le lendemain pour assister au concert d'Iggy and The Stooges!

On a plus qu'à espérer une suite et un album à ce nouveau super-groupe plus que prometteur!
